I built my first website in the early 2000s with Microsoft FrontPage, while working in the R&D department of an IT company. It was a hobby project: a small support portal for the office. Back then, buying hosting and putting a page online was an achievement in itself.

I enjoyed it, so I made another one. Then another. When I returned from military service in 2005 I discovered WordPress, and I spent the next twenty years building dozens of niche sites and earning through affiliate marketing.

Today I build with Astro and Next.js. Faster, calmer tools. The habit is unchanged since that first FrontPage page: make something useful and put it online.

Discipline before enthusiasm. In the past I jumped into every market that looked reasonable, and some of those attempts went nowhere. That taught me to do the boring work first: research the market properly, validate the demand, then commit.

Weeks spent on research before a project starts have always come back as months saved later.

When I am not working, I am usually fishing. Shore fishing with spinning tackle, following whatever the season brings.

At home I keep a planted aquarium. A different kind of patience: slow systems, small adjustments, no deadlines.
